Aloha! Thank you for your interest in our lovely tropical home. Jadelily Hale, named after our beautiful daughters, is located in stunning Moloa'a Valley on the Northeast shore of the spectacular garden island of Kauai. The house is centrally located approximately halfway between the airport and the charming town of Hanalei. It is at the end of a winding country road that takes you back to old Hawaii. Jadelily Hale is off the beaten path, so we recommend that you rent a four wheel drive vehicle and prepare to enjoy one of the last rugged and picturesque dirt roads on Kauai. An adventure awaits you as Moloa'a stream runs along our back yard; so grab the paddles and enjoy the exquisite tropical foliage and bird sanctuary as you kayak or canoe a short way down to gorgeous crescent moon shaped, white sand Moloa'a beach. THE HOUSE The tropical retreat is on Kauai's Northeast shore in pleasant Moloa'a Valley. Graced by two royal palms at the entrance, the house is an enchanting Asian-inspired two bedroom one bath with lots of island style. Up two flights of stairs, the house features two substantial lanais, a large hot tub, open air shower and a lush garden, including banana and lime trees, hibiscus, haliconia and rustling coconut palms. Two full length padded lounge chairs, a gourmet barbecue grill and picnic table make outdoor living a delight. The backyard sits on beautiful Moloa'a stream under a canopy of monkey pod trees. An outrigger canoe and kayak await you for a short paddle to the divine and secluded Moloa'a Bay where you might see dolphins, whales or sea turtles in the sparkling, clear blue water. You can bring a mask and snorkel to view the striking and bountiful tropical fish. A reef protects a portion of the beach and marine life. These features combine to make the house and neighborhood peaceful and comfortable. THE GREAT ROOM The wood floored great room consists of a dining room with seating for six and living room with a restful sofa, traditionally low, teak Javanese furniture and accent pieces from China, Indonesia and Japan. Large sliding glass doors, and an additional teak dining table and chairs are featured on the delightful wide lanai for extended outdoor living. The ocean is approximately 200 yards away, making Jadelily the third house inland from the beach. Beamed cathedral ceilings, ceiling fan, satellite tv/vcr and cd/tape stereo will make you feel at ease, you are welcome to bring your own music and videotapes. THE MASTER BEDROOM The carpeted, comfortable master bedroom includes a queen-sized bed with lush down quilt and elegant Asian bamboo dresser and armchair. The sound of the Pacific Ocean waves accompanied by soft island trade winds will lull you to sleep at night. Wooden jalousies, closet and ceiling fan complete the room. A private entrance to the scenic lanai and an outdoor reading chair await you. THE GUEST BEDROOM The carpeted, cozy guest bedroom is equipped with two twin beds with lush down quilts. The twin beds can be pushed together to create a king bed if desired. Also included are a teak & bamboo dresser, a mirrored closet, iron and board, ceiling fan, portable tv/vcr, all linens, and plenty of beach towels. THE KITCHEN The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, stove, double sink, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, pots, pans, rice cooker, dishes, glass and plasticware, cookware, silverware, linens and picture window. Just stock up on your favorite foods and drinks and you'll be ready to go! THE STUDIO The studio is a small Polynesian-inspired bonus room which lends privacy. It includes a comfortable island desk and chair, bay windows and private entrance to the lanai. The studio is a perfect place for peaceful reading or studying. THE HOT TUB LEVEL The hot tub level includes tranquil stream and garden views as well a large relaxing, therapeutic hot tub. Rejuvenate and unwind on the sizable hand carved Timor bench. Take pleasure in the sound of the breaking waves. There is also a laundry room with washer and dryer well-stocked with beach chairs, beach umbrella, snorkel gear, boogie boards, and cooler. EXPLORING You will find many additional things to do on the island including world class Napali coast hiking, swimming, scuba diving and snorkeling, kayaking and canoeing, horseback riding, biking, shopping, yoga, Princeville championship golf and spa, deep sea fishing and sailing charters, fine Pacific Rim dining, helicopter rides and of course Hawaiian surfing! NOTES Rate is $250 per night, plus $150 out-cleaning fee Check-in time is 3pm Check-out time is 10am 4 guest maximum Jadelily is a non-smoking home Please remove shoes before entering house Our gardener, Mick, comes every other Wednesday Trash pick-up is early Wednesday morning by bridge Always use caution when swimming in the ocean - dangerous conditions may exist!
