Princeton Laundry, Inc. is a privately-owned corporation that provides New York City's finest hotels and clubs with guest laundry, dry-cleaning, valet service, as well as linen and uniform cleaning service.
Our Grandfather, Mr. Christie B. Garlasco, established Princeton Laundry in 1918. Presently, Michael, John and Kevin Garlasco manage daily operations. Our father, Lawrence Garlasco, although "retired", remains an integral part of production management four days a week!
Our original production facility was located at 430 West 45th street, a 500 square foot loft and employed 15 people. In 1945, Princeton's growth warranted a relocation to 405 East 91 st street, where we occupied a total of 4000 square feet and hired five additional employees.
A fire in 1964 forced Princeton to relocate to the 9th floor of 450 West 31st street. Making the best out of a bad situation, the company again expanded operations to a total of 5000 square feet and five additional employees.
With expansion again in 1956 and again in 1965, the total plant size was increased to 16,000 and 100 employees.
In January 1997, construction of our new production facility was completed. Our new Bronx address and its 32,000 square feet of production space is considered by many to be nicest and most quality-orientated facility serving New York Hotels and Clubs.
Princeton Laundry remains to be the only New York based company that services Manhattan's Hospitality Industry, offering Valet and Linen services.
Princeton Laundry is a member of the following associations: Hotel Executives Club, Hotel Association of New York, Neighborhood Cleaners Association.
Princeton's production employees are members of the Amalgamated Service & Allied Industries Joint Board, UNITE, the AFL-CIO and the CLC.
